System Information
Alcatel 360H (7m x 7m)
NSI's 7m by 7m horizontal planar scanner is used by Alcatel in Toulouse, France for production testing on the Globalstar satellite program. System uses a custom HP 8530 RF subsystem and NSI L/S-band probe to test the L-band and S-band antennas.
Alenia Spazio 22 x 22
The 500H-22x22 is an ideal system for measuring large aperture antennas with medium to high gain (>15 dBi). The large horizontal scanner size accommodates antenna apertures up to 22' x 22' making it suitable for testing larger arrays or reflector antennas that require a zenith orientation for testing.
Lockheed Martin 46' x 26'
The 500H-46x26 is an ideal system for measuring large aperture antennas with medium to high gain (>15 dBi). The large horizontal scanner size accommodates antenna apertures up to 46' x 26' making it suitable for testing larger arrays or reflector antennas that require a zenith orientation for testing.
Endgate 255L
NSI 5' by 5' vertical planar scanner with cylindrical option. In planar mode, the AUT remains fixed while the probe scans in the X and Y directions. In cylindrical mode, the probe scans in the Y direction and the antenna is stepped in azimuth.
Raytheon GBR
8m by 4m vertical scanner used for the Raytheon Ground Based Radar (GBR) program. Shows NSI laser optical correction system and dual arm rotary joint system for RF phase reference cable to probe.

NSI 23' x 23' Tiltable

Elta 19m x 8m
19m by 8m vertical planar scanner (customer furnished) used for high power radar antenna tests. System uses HP 8530A RF subsystem and NSI software and correction optics to apply probe position correction to improve the scanner's performance.
SS/Loral
SS/Loral 22' by 22' Nearfield System testing a large offset reflector antenna
SS/Loral Scanner
SS/Loral 22' by 22' XY scanner during assembly and checkout operations at NSI' machine shop. Scanner was subsequently mounted 25 feet in the air at SS/Loral to provide clearance for large satellite antennas.
NASA / SWAS 233G
NSI has designed and built two submillimeter wave near-field measurement systems operating atfrequencies as high as 550 GHz. These scanners use granite structures with air bearings toobtain a Z positioning accuracy of a few wavelengths of light. One application of this system is the flightqualification testing of the NASA Submillimeter Wave Astronomy Satellite (SWAS), part of the SMall EXplorer satellite program.

Spherical Near-field System Spherical Near-Field System NSI recently completed installation of a custom spherical near-field system at our customer Kathrein in Rosenheim, Germany. The system was adapted from NSI's standard 700S-50 spherical nearfield system and is used by Kathrein to test a variety of antennas including base station antennas for mobile telephones. The system included the spherical scanner, an RF subsystem consisting of an HP 8530A, an NSI designed Integrated Frequency Converter (IFC) and high speed synthesizers allowing high speed multiple frequency acquisition on-the-fly at rates of up to 2,000 measurements per second. The RF equipment supplied supports measurements from .75 GHz up to 4 GHz. The data acquisition and processing functions are controlled by NSI's flagship software product NSI 2000. Here is a photograph of the NSI system installed in the chamber at Kathrein, and also a viewable panoramic image taken inside the chamber.
