NSI at AMTA Europe 2006
In May, Greg Hindman, Greg Masters, Daniël Janse van Rensburg and Stuart Gregson attended AMTA Europe in Munich. Click here for details and a few photos.

During the conference, NSI presented two technical papers:

"Reflection Suppression To Improve Anechoic Chamber Performance" by Greg Hindman and Allen Newell

"An introduction to Mobile Station Over-the-Air measurements" by Greg Masters

________

NSI at CTIA
In April, Donnie Gray and Kim Hassett attended the CTIA Wireless 2006 Conference in Las Vegas. The CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association) Wireless show brings together all industries affected by wireless technology. NSI's exhibit focused on systems and solutions for the CTIA and Wireless antenna market such as the NSI-700S-90 Spherical system.

________

NSI at LAPC
NSI attended the second annual Loughborough Antennas and Propagation Conference (LAPC) held on 11-12 April 2006 at the Burleigh Court Conference Hotel in Loughborough, UK. The LAPC 2006 conference focused on technology in applications and theory for both academia and commerce throughout the international antenna community.

NSI Customer Earns Best Manufacturing Practices Award

Northrop Grumman Corporation's Electronic Systems Sector has been nationally-recognized as Best Manufacturing Practices (BMP) as part of a unique industry and government cooperative effort. Among the areas surveyed at Northrop Grumman's Baltimore operations were design, test, production, facilities and management. Examples of best practices included the innovative use of commodity design teams, production test cells, rapid prototyping, supplier logistics, and electronic component procurement, among other areas. The need to test large quantities of production antennas led Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems to adopt proven Commercial- Off-The-Shelf Near-field Scanning Technology and its associated software and to use Near-field Production Test Cells instead of compact ranges. This has enabled Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems to realize a 50% reduction in the time required to test an antenna, enhanced measurement capabilities, and a 70% reduction in floor space requirements for the test facility.

The Near-field Test Cells used by Northrop Grumman were supplied by Nearfield Systems and are based on the NSI-500H-6x6 Planar Near-field Scanner, NSI Panther 6000 Receiver and NSI 2000 Software. NSI also supplied the Anechoic Chamber, Laser Alignment System, RF Subsystem and other key components of the production test cells.

NSI Announces New 3D Spherical Near-field System, NSI-700S-20
The Model NSI-700S-20 is an ideal system for measuring medium and low gain antennas up to 10inches (0.25 m) in size. The 700S-20 uses a dual-axis phi-over-theta high accuracy stepper motor based positioning system with an adjustable extension foot for probe support. The system is constructed of modular high strength aluminum and can support loads of up to 10 pounds (4.5 kg). The location of the probe, theta and phi stages are fully adjustable to accommodate different antenna sizes and mounts. This simple design is easy to assemble and can be quickly dismantled for transport or storage. For more detail see:
