NSI Introduces New Driver for Agilent PNA-X
NSI 2000 software now supports the new Agilent PNA-X network analyzer recently introduced by Agilent. The PNA-X offers an upper frequency capability of 26.5 GHz, higher output power and touch screen control of the device. It also contains a built-in pulse modulator and pulse generator, allowing NSI to do RF pulse testing with this device. Several add-on options of the prior model PNA are now offered standard in the PNA-X. NSI demonstrated multi-frequency control and acquisition on an NSI-700S-20 spherical near-field scanner using this device at the IEEE MTT-S IMC and the IEEE AP-S Int'l Symposium in Honolulu, HI recently.

2nd NSI-700S-90 System Certified
as CTIA Authorized Test Lab

QuieTek Corporation in Taiwan announced certification of their CTIA OTA (over the air) system using the NSI-700S-90 spherical near-field system. The NSI-700S-90 includes the industry-leading NSI Antenna Measurement software and CTIA OTA software and is designed to be part of an overall CTIA Authorized Test Laboratory (CATL).

The first NSI 700S-90 system that achieved CTIA certification earlier this year was also in Taiwan for the Ben-Q Corporation.

UCLA Short Course
The UCLA Short Course entitled Microwave Antenna Measurements was held from 15-18 May 2007 in Los Angeles, CA. This course which was formerly presented at Cal State University Northridge under the guidance of Professor Stan Gillespie, was moved to UCLA in 2006 after Stan retired. The course provides a broad overview of antenna test technology with lecturers coming from industry and academia. NSI contributed to this course through the presentation of two sessions. One on “Implementation aspects of near-field systems” and the other on “Error analysis in near-field systems” both presented by Dr Daniel Janse van Rensburg. NSI also sponsored a reception that was hosted by Professor Yahya Rahmat-Samii in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at UCLA.
