DESCRIPTION

The model 906HT-3x3 is a high performance near-field antenna measurement system that is ideal for measuring antennas at mm-wave frequencies – up to 900 GHz. It provides extremely high planarity and thermal stability, necessary for tests at this high frequency.  The scanner can be configured in a variety of tiltable orientations. Typical applications include measurement of terrestrial based astronomical telescope antennas.

CAPABILITIES

The 906HT provides a highly accurate measurement system for testing antennas at extremely high frequencies.  The scanner can be supported in a variety of configurations, with the three-point, kinematic mount system.  This facilitates rotation of the scan plane from vertical to horizontal, and any angle in between without degradation of accuracy.  The system includes the NSI Antenna Measurement Software that operates on a Pentium-based measurement workstation, and interfaces to a wide variety of RF equipment.  The software provides automatic set up of scans based on measurement parameters and desired output.  Measured data can be processed for far-field or holographic patterns yielding complete characterization of the antenna's performance.

The system accuracy and thermal stability can be enhanced by adding NSI's patented Motion Tracking Interferometer (MTI) technology (U.S. Patent No.  5,419,631).  This technology provides thermal compensation techniques to minimize the phase change in the measurement RF cables, AUT, and scanner.  Additionally, the NSI 2000 Professional Edition can be added to provide increased accuracy ("corrected") via our structure correction technique.
