    NSI-920PP-6
Plane Polar Near-field Measurement System - 6' (1.8 m) Diameter

DESCRIPTION

Model 920PP-6 system can be used for measuring medium and high gain antennas up to 60 inches (1.5 m) and up to 220 pounds (100 kg). The plane polar scanning technique is ideal for antennas that have some level of radial symmetry, and can often reduce test times by an order of magnitude. The 920PP-6 uses a 3' (0.9 m) linear travel stage above an azimuth rotator to provide the scanning motion. However, with the use of this linear stage combined with the azimuth rotator, an effective scanning area of 6' (1.8 m) diameter is achieved. A probe rotation stage is included on the linear scanner to provide measurements of both probe polarizations. This high accuracy positioning system also includes an integral adjustable stand. The system is constructed of modular aluminum.

CAPABILITIES

The system interfaces with a wide variety of RF equipment and is capable of measuring amplitude and phase patterns from C-band to mmWave frequencies. The Model 920PP-6 includes NSI Antenna Measurement Software.

The system software runs on a Pentium based measurement workstation and provides automatic setup of scans based on measurement parameters and desired output. Measured data can be processed for far-field or holographic patterns yielding complete characterization of the antenna’s performance. A single data set provides information on antenna gain, side lobe structure, beam pointing and cross polarization.

The compact nature of the 920PP-6 system allows it to measure larger antennas and fit in a smaller chamber size than a conventional plane-rectangular scanner.

The Model 920PP-6 can be supplied with a variety of options to enhance system performance.
