Description: Principal Mechanical Design Engineer |
| Job Description: |
We are looking for a senior level mechanical design engineer with a significant track record of real world designs, creativity and innovations, combined with a broad knowledge of mechanical fundamentals. You should enjoy working with technically challenging multidisciplinary systems that incorporate mechanical engineering, civil engineering, robotic, high precision metrology, electro-optics, electronics, RF and software technologies.
You should be comfortable both with back of the envelope calculations and computer aided design (CAD {Inventor / Productstream}, FEA and MS Office).
Expertise with high precision robotic systems, high precision structures, civil engineering, electro-optics and optical metrology are all preferred skills.
Duties include conceptual design, detailed design, tolerance analysis, safety analysis and oversight and mentoring of junior engineers. |
Position Description: RF/Electronic Design Engineer |
Job Description: |
Design, analyze, test, and document microwave/RF and electronic equipment and subsystems in support of NSI antenna measurement systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following
- Specify and select RF and microwave equipment and components to meet customer and market requirements
- Develop unit-level and system-level diagrams and parts lists
- Provide design specification and guidance to mechanical product designers
- Analyze equipment configurations to verify system performance
- Develop procedures to assemble and test electronic equipment
- Develop and perform procedures to verify microwave/RF system performance
- Prepare RF system user documentation and manuals
- Travel domestically and globally to support installation and training for NSI measurement systems
Education and/or Experience:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in design, support, test, and configuration of electronic or microwave equipment
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data, particularly in relation to electrical and microwave equipment or measurements
- Working knowledge of design software, including Visio, Orcad, and Inventor .
- Experience with FPGA, CPLD and similar technologies
- Experience designing with logic diagrams and/or VHDL code
- Proficient in operation of electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs, counters, and spectrum analyzers

Position Description: Software Engineer |
Job Description: |
Design, development and test of measurement software for microwave antennas.
Software design, coding and testing of:
- NSI Antenna Measurement Software which controls microwave and robotic hardware to measure the radiation performance of antennas, primarily written in VB6
- Interfacing to 2D and 3D graphics modules and other 3rd party software
Desired skills:
- Significant experience with VB6 programming
- Other Languages desired: VB.Net, C++, C#, Java
- Real time programming experience
- Control of hardware devices / robotics
- Scientific programming with good math skills
- OS: Windows
- Specific programming technologies: GPIB, Serial, Active-X and COM, TCP/IP sockets
- BSCS, BS sciences or equivalent knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Occasional domestic and international travel to customer sites

Position Description: Production Technician |
| Job Description: |
Electro-mechanical assembly and fabrication of precision measurement machines; acceptance testing of electrical and mechanical parts and assemblies; packaging of products and literature for shipment. Must be a team player, flexible, quick learner. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Ability to read electrical/electronic and mechanical blueprints
- Ability to comply with NSI quality system, written procedures and ISO 9001
- Ability to understand and comply with safety rules, including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and shop machinery (drill press, band saw, etc.)
- Assembly, fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, repair, test and calibration of electro-mechanical assemblies
- Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, etc.
- Perform final acceptance tests and measurement on completed systems
- Maintain documentation for adjustments and revisions on assigned projects.
- Develop and improve test procedures and techniques
- Provide maintenance on shop equipment as needed
- Package merchandise for shipping
- Ability to operate computers with Windows based applications
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word a plus and the use of data bases
- Operation of lift equipment (forklift, gantry crane, pallet jack, “cherry picker”)
- Ability to travel to customer sites (global) for installation or repair work
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly sets up, adjusts, assembles, controls, tests and operates electronic equipment
- Ability to perform job functions in high locations, i.e. – ladders, manlifts, catwalks, up to 60 ft off the ground
- Regularly required to stoop, reach and lift 50 lbs
- Regularly stands 50% of the time
- Regularly required to work around chemicals
- Operation of lift equipment
- Regularly kneels, crawls, lies down to work on machinery
Other Requirements:
- Attendance is required 8 hours a day, 5 days a week; Monday through Friday
- Must be available to work overtime as needed
- Assists in keeping shop area clean and tidy
