Position Description: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a senior level mechanical design engineer with a significant track record of real world designs, creativity and innovations, combined with a broad knowledge of mechanical fundamentals. You should enjoy working with technically challenging multidisciplinary systems that incorporate mechanical engineering, civil engineering, robotic, high precision metrology, electro-optics, electronics, RF and software technologies.

You should be comfortable both with back of the envelope calculations and computer aided design (CAD {Inventor / Productstream}, FEA and MS Office).

Expertise with high precision robotic systems, high precision structures, civil engineering, electro-optics and optical metrology are all preferred skills.

Duties include conceptual design, detailed design, tolerance analysis, safety analysis and oversight and mentoring of junior engineers.

Position Description: RF & Microwave Engineer

Job Description:

Design, analyze, and document microwave and RF equipment and subsystems in support of NSI antenna measurement systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Specify and select RF and microwave equipment and components to meet customer and market requirements
  • Specify, select and characterize microwave cables and components to meet system performance requirements
  • Develop unit-level and system-level diagrams and parts lists
  • Analyze equipment configurations to verify system performance
  • Develop and perform test procedures to verify system performance
  • Provide system validation and error determination and analysis
  • Prepare RF system user documentation and manuals
  • Travel domestically and globally to support installation and training for NSI measurement systems

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years experience in antenna or microwave design or measurements
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data, particularly in relation to antenna and microwave measurements
  • Ability to work effectively in the antenna range environment
Position Description: RF / Electrical Field Service Engineer
Job Description

Maintain, repair and calibrate electronic and microwave RF products for customer systems. Troubleshooting of customer problem reports; maintain service records and/or logs; compose service reports for customers; back-up support of factory sub-assembly and test of NSI electronic products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following and other duties as assigned:
  • Field service to troubleshoot and/or install repair parts for NSI scanners
  • Receive incoming support calls and provide technical support Troubleshoot problem reports and repair as required
  • Define cost of repair jobs, including labor and parts content
  • Write service reports for customer(s)
  • Provide repair on Production electronic equipment and tools
  • Maintain RF calibration records and status.
  • Renew calibration standards as required.
  • Recommend product improvements
  • Develop, document and improve test procedures and techniques
  • Travel, including international destinations. Approx. 50% post training

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Two years practical experience with electronics and/or motor drive systems.
  • Bachelor Degree in EE or strong RF microwave experience.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and layouts, specifications and procedures concerning repair, installation and inspection work to be performed.
  • Must be familiar with computers and electronic instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with RF instrumentation.
  • Ability to function under quick turnaround schedules, and handle multiple priorities well.
  • US Citizenship required

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external customers.
  • English language
  • Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
Position Description: Mechanical Field Service Technician
Job Description:

Repair, maintenance and calibration of NSI products; troubleshooting of customer problems; maintain service records/logs; compose service reports; back-up support of factory assembly and test, and site installation.

Essemtial Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following and other duties as assigned:

  • Field service to service NSI scanners and products
  • Align and calibrate NSI products using various optical tooling
  • Provide telephone and site support to troubleshoot and repair products
  • Written service reports Basic use of NSI measurement software product
  • Recommend product operation improvements
  • Develop and improve test procedures and techniques Provide maintenance and calibration for shop equipment and tools
  • Domestic & international travel (planned & unplanned). Approx. 60%

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to align products using optical tools and mechanical tools
  • 5 years experience in Field Service in a robotics environment
  • Computer applications (Office)
  • Near-field measurement software knowledge
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams and engineering drawings
  • Ability to clear customer security access requirements
  • Fork lift and man lift operation. Qualified for lifting and rigging

Language Skills:

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.English language

  • Ability to apply principals of logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems

Other Skills and Abilities:

Position Description: Production Technician

Job Description:

Electro-mechanical assembly and fabrication of precision measurement machines; acceptance testing of electrical and mechanical parts and assemblies; packaging of products and literature for shipment. Must be a team player, flexible, quick learner. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Ability to read electrical/electronic and mechanical blueprints
  • Ability to comply with NSI quality system, written procedures and ISO 9001
  • Ability to understand and comply with safety rules, including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and shop machinery (drill press, band saw, etc.)
  • Assembly, fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, repair, test and calibration of electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, etc.
  • Perform final acceptance tests and measurement on completed systems
  • Maintain documentation for adjustments and revisions on assigned projects.
  • Develop and improve test procedures and techniques
  • Provide maintenance on shop equipment as needed
  • Package merchandise for shipping
  • Ability to operate computers with Windows based applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word a plus and the use of data bases
  • Operation of lift equipment (forklift, gantry crane, pallet jack, “cherry picker”)
  • Ability to travel to customer sites (global) for installation or repair work

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly sets up, adjusts, assembles, controls, tests and operates electronic equipment
  • Ability to perform job functions in high locations, i.e. – ladders, manlifts, catwalks, up to 60 ft off the ground
  • Regularly required to stoop, reach and lift 50 lbs
  • Regularly stands 50% of the time
  • Regularly required to work around chemicals
  • Operation of lift equipment
  • Regularly kneels, crawls, lies down to work on machinery

Other Requirements:

  • Attendance is required 8 hours a day, 5 days a week; Monday through Friday
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed

Position Description: Electronic Assembly Technician

Job Description::

Responsible for assembling and inspecting electronic products, cables and assemblies according to written instructions and drawings

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assemble complete electronic products, including mechanical and electronic assembly
  • Assemble circuit card assemblies (solder, read schematics and assembly drawings, clean, and inspect)
  • Assemble RF and cables of all types from engineering drawings
  • Kit electronic parts for production, EPD and R&D as required
  • Inspect electronic assemblies to maintain build quality
  • Consistently and accurately document production steps, part serial numbers, changes, and other information as required on engineering documents and work orders
  • Provide assistance necessary to get products out to customers, projects completed and internal documentation as complete as possible

Position Description: Mechanical Designer

Job Description:

Create design layouts, including models, to meet supplied requirements. Generate engineering drawings for fabrication and assembly of mechanical parts from layouts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create mechanical model using Inventor; Generate mechanical assembly drawings with parts list from details
  • Generate and revise orthogonal view drawings for fabrication of parts
  • Interpret customer requirements and other design requirements with management
  • Maintain design product documentation
  • Work with production department to insure producibility and quality

  • Good Verbal Communication Skills
