The NSI 85301B System

NSI is now offering a high performance antenna measurement system based on the well-known industry standard Agilent 85301B. The NSI 85301B combines Agilent instrumentation with NSI software and system engineering to provide the highest quality antenna measurement system available. The NSI 85301B operates from 2 to 20 GHz with options available to extend the range from 100 MHz to 325 GHz. This system provides an excellent high performance antenna measurement platform for both for indoor and outdoor ranges. The NSI 85301B system can be easily combined with an NSI near-field scanner or NSI far-field range and is 100% compatible with the NSI measurement software. RCS applications are also supported.

System Description

The NSI 85301B antenna & RCS measurement system provides the instrumentation for automated antenna patterns or radar cross-section measurements. It uses the Agilent 85310A distributed frequency converter for operation from 2 to 20 GHz. This fundamental mixer-based system provides excellent sensitivity and RFI immunity for indoor or outdoor ranges. The NSI 85301B includes two Agilent 83621B synthesized sweepers as RF and LO sources, Agilent 8530A receiver, 85309A LO/IF distribution unit, 85320A/B test and reference mixers, system cabling, GPIB extenders, and a system rack. Options are available for extending the frequency range from 100 MHz to 325 GHz, AUT and probe PIN switches, and support for various size near-field scanners and far-field ranges.

Power and Cooling

Install adequate AC power at all necessary locations. All equipment operates on 110 VAC, 60 Hz facility power, unless otherwise specified. A 20A outlet is required for the equipment rack. Contact NSI for special facility accommodations. Make sure enough outlets are provided at each location, and that they can supply the required amount of current. Place air conditioning equipment, compressors and large power converters on a different AC circuit than that used for the RF subsystem equipment.
