The NSI OTA Software is an application for testing of cellular handsets per the CTIA test specifications. The software controls wireless base station simulators from Agilent, Rohde & Schwarz or Anritsu and can test GSM, GSM-GPRS, EGPRS, WCDMA, CDMA2k 1xRTT, CDMA2k 1xEVDO protocols.

The NSI OTA software, combined with the correct hardware (http://www.nearfield.com/sales/datasheets/NSI-700S-90.htm), allows for CTIA compliance testing. The software has a simple user interface that allows for fully automated handset testing that allows for testing a complete channel set by the touch of a single button. Total radiated power (TRP) and total isotropic sensitivity is measured (TIS) and data is recorded into an Excel file for analysis. The NSI software employs proprietary algorithms for shortening the TIS tests to less than that typically seen in industry. Electronic switching of a dual polarized source antenna also reduces test time. The NSI OTA software is a 32-bit multi-tasking Windows application that runs under Microsoft Windows XP and provides an excellent array of features that take advantage of the recent advances in operating system technologies including networking, OLE/DLL, scripting and web support.
